Nokia E70
The Nokia E70 looks to me like the ideal phone for the hacker, developer, system administrator and general email or text maven. Folded it looks quite discrete, but with the butterfly keyboard open you get a full qwerty keyboard with the screen in the middle. What shall we call the E70's folding keypad/keyboard? Butterfly? Gullwing? We like El Reg's mousetrap naming.
Shipping from the end of May 2006 the E70 features the following connectivity capabilities:
- GSM on 900, 1800, and 1900 MHz with GPRS and EGPRS (EDGE) data capabilities or 850, 1800, 1900 MHz for the Americas model - known as the E70-2
- WCDMA on 2100 MHz on the World model - known as the E70-1
- Wireless Lan (802.11g/e/i)
- Bluetooth
- Infrared
The phone also gets a high resolution (352 x 416 pixel) screen as seen on the Nokia N90, and the 2 megapixel camera gets this device my vote over the sightless Nokia E60 and Nokia E61.
